want to. Pre-packaged and
junk foods are fast, conve-
nient and expensive.

@ Bare-bones budgeting.
Some people review their en-
tire budget, vowing to cut all
spending by a certain percen-
tage. Thermostats are
lowered, gas consumption is
rationed, lights are turned
off. Long distance telephone
calls are forbidden and Visa
cards are locked up for the
duration. Lunches are pack-
ed, not bought. Feet were
made for walking.

I know that many people
are doing all this stuff just to
stay alive and for them,
travel is something that will
have to wait until the
economy improves. When it
does, they'll know all the best
ways to save for that dream
vacation
