The agency, which has served North Shore residents for many years through its counselling, Community Family Worker, Education groups and Volunteer pro- grams has until this time operated as a branch of Family Servies of Greater Vancouver. In recent years both the number and size of programs have _ increased significantly. In 1978 North Shore Family Servies Society was formed and has Operated several programs including Special Services to Children, an Aduit Diversion program, Family Drop-Ins and the recently opened resi- dential Family Assessment Centre for adolescents. The transfer of branch programs to the Society has been the result of joint plan- ning by the North Shore Family Services and Greater Vancouver boards and of the recommendations by a Management consultant hired under the auspices of United Way. The agency operates cen- tral offices at 145 East 15th Street in North Vancouver, and at Marine Drive in the Village Square in West Van- couver.
