gy is readily available and becom-
ing more affordable all the time.

An alarm/pager unit that would
work as described above can be
bought for under $3,000, not neces-
sarily including installation, accord-
ing to Tom Dakin of Performance
Car Stereo.

Dakin likes gadgets and looks
forward to the day he owns a "smart
house.”

“All you need are two coaxial
cables running to each room," he
enthuses.

"There's a ton of junk out there,"
is his immediate response, It is pos-
sible to buy a car alarm for as little
as $80.
