So, this was the appropri- time ia her life for another adventure: a companion. Her search led her to Geordie, a solid black Scottish terrier puppy. The weeks awaiting his arrival, she shopped for all of the “things” that small puppies need to make life pleasant, including having a wooden slide made with slats placed about four inches apart the full length, so the “wee one” can get from the back porch to the ground by himself, as the regular steps are too difi- cult for such a litde fellow at this time in his life. This Jove- able lady who just happens to be 2 dependable and caring babysiter, takes each day as it comes, and meets challenges with a healthy attitude, enjoy- i hing life has to offer. Friends of all ages help keep Birdie young at heart, and she continues to be an inspiration to them. The North Shore has many trea- sures, and Birdie is certainly one of them.
