Call for help THE WEST Vancouver Police Department is crediting a West Vancouver business with helping to find a three- year-old giri who had cailed for help. Const. Jamie Gibson said West Vancouver's Intertec Telecommunications received a telephone call at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, from a young girl who said: “Mommy is dead,” Intertec employee Bill Campbell and his associates kept the yourg girl on the line and called the West Van- couver Palice. The police then contacted BC Tel security, which immediately began searching through several telephone ~ ines to trace the girl’s call. The telephone trace ted to a Surrey address, where Surrey RCMP were then dispatched to the scene. When the police arrived they discovered the three- year-old girl, named Samantha, had somehow dialled In- tertec’s telephone number without her father’s know- ledge. Gibson said the girl’s mother was recovering from re- cent surgery and was asleep when her daughter called the West Vancouver business.” . “We greatly appreciate the concern and efforts put forth by Intertec staff and BC Telephone in bringing * Samantha's drama to a happy ending,’’said Gibson.
