Not so ‘Super’ movie has about four laughs

premise — a

slumlord under
house arrest in one of his
own rat’s nests. Certainly
the snappy TV commercial
showing sleazy Joe Pesci
getting a good dollop of his
own medicine oromises a
terrific comedy:

ad is a four-star tribute to the
agency. Perhaps the Academy of
Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
will invent a category for the best
30-second spot to rook an au-

work with: an obnoxious lead
charactér;who wears out his wel-
come after a half minute, about

money at the 80-minute mark.

Army seeker of souls who has a
hard time reconciling her wealthy

when he dangles a huge cheque to
save the cash-strapped mercy mis-
sion.
