Seventy per cent of Canadians donate their time, energy and skills in a variety of areas from the per- sonal to community support services and administra- tion. The week of April 22 to 28 is Volunteer Recognition Week throughout Canada to thank the people who, throughout the year, have provided support to those in need. The North Shore Volunteer and Information Centre is sponsoring a volunteer awards night on April 24 at West Vancouver Secondary School. The North Shore Health Department will give a formal thank you letter to its volunteers as well as an informal thank you in the form of a poem. A bigger celebration is being planned in May. The North Shore Neighbourhood House is holding a volunteer appreciation night on April 25. The staff will serve volunteers at a dinner.
