See story page 11. public hearing. “This opposition, voiced in a very vigorous manner at the public hearing, has apparently made it necessary to go back to the starting point and determine in a definitive and conclusive manner the public will on the question of whether the land at 320 Taylor Way should be used to generate revenue for the municipality, or whether it should be used for some other non- revenue producing purpose such as park,’’ stated Lanskail. Generating revenue through some sort of high-rise development was central to the guidelines established for the site in 1981, and supported by 14 different members of subsequent councils, including former Mayor Derrick Hum- phreys.
