THE NORTH Shore Winter Club
Bantam ‘AAA’ 14 and 15-year-
olds have qualified for the provin-
cial minor hockey championships
for the third straight year.

NSWC swept to the provincials
by winning six straight games in
the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey
Association’s Greater Vancouver
conference playoffs held recently
in Burnaby.

North Shore scored 55 goals in
the six playoff games while sur-
rendering just 15.

The six-game playoff sweep
gives NSWC a record of 41-6-3

heading into the provincial bantam
‘AAA’ championships which begin
March 15 in Castlegar.

North Shore opened the playoffs
with a convincing 10-1 romp over
Grandview.

Left-winger Robert
scored four goals in the win.

NSWC followed its opening win
in the four-team, double-round-
robin competition with a 10-2
whipping of North Vancouver
Recreation Centre behind the
three-goal performance of team
captain Mark Kaufmann.

In the key game of the series,

NSWC downed Burnaby Minor
7-3,

Kaufmann scored three times.
Tadey and Jason Jennings added
two goals each.

North Shore continued its strong
play in the second round of the
series, beating Grandview 9-4.
Jennings scored a hat trick in the
win,

Kaufmann exploded with five
goals in NSWC’s 12-2 win over
NVRC.

NSWC then defeated Burnaby
7-3, Jennings and right winger
Geoff Rawson each scored twice.
