shed management policy, a
Greenpeace spokesman has
charged.

“Field evidence indicates
that the Alberta Creek

disaster at Lions Bay was
caused by single use logging
practices in upstream water-
sheds,” says Greenpeace
forester Bob Nixon.

Nixon claimed that the
main reason for such rock-
mud floods is “over-zealous

exploitation of forested
valleys upstream of creeks
flowing into Lions Bay.”

Forest managers, he said,
are permitted to approve
logging plans which do not
adequately consider the long
