This was the basic difference in the two teams on Saturday as West Van recorded an easy nine wickets victory over visiting Anza at Hugo Ray Park in BX. mainland league play. West Van fielders caught eight out of nine chances of- fered whereas Anza, in com- plete contrast, dropped at least five gilt-edged oppor- tunities. Steve Muilbourn (with two spectacular efforts) Chris Bennett and Vipin Patel were the fielding stars for West Van and Harvey Lawson, with a one-handed effort, maintained the high standard. West VAn required only 93 runs for victory and lost the wicket of Steve Miller wit the score at 35. This proved to be the only set back, however as Mike Huggett and Chris Ben- nett continued their remarkable form with scores of 55 and 13 not out respec- tively. Pace bowler, Bob Rushbourne, was impressive in a losing cause for Anza. West van have now won all five games this season. Scores: Anza - 92 all out (32 overs) S. Miller 3 for 19 R. Wallis 2 for 22 M. Moore 2 for 22 West Van - 92 for | wicket (24 overs) M Huggett $5 not out.
