It was an opportunity for the non-profit organization to publicly acknowledge — the friendly, supportive relation- ships it enjoys with more than 125 association volunteers. 1998 Volunteer Awards for Outstanding Contribution and Length of Service were pre- _ sented to: Leslie Chan, Sarah Chapman, Sherry Cleverte, Jane Cougle, Janice Dao, Lisa Hart, Stephanie Hewalo, Lee Jonat, Amanda Jordan, Amber Lafleur, Leshe Leo, Dawn Mende, Scott O'Shea, Kelly Paus, Brice 9 Robertson, William Skuse. The NSAMAH offers volun teer positions in areas such as leisure companions, speakers bureau, committees and spe- cial events, publication mail- ings, board of directors and more. the largest: service providers to individuals with a developmen- tal disability in British Columbia, assisting more than 300 indisiduals and their fami- lies through more than 400 The NSAMH is one of DES programs and services on the North Shore. NSAMH has more than 300 employees, 125 volunteers and 350 members. It operates 13 community residences, pro- vides family support, commu- nity-based respite care and iiteskills programs for children, teens and adults. The association also offers productive employment, job development, community work experience and an employment centre chat assists participants in gaining access to the competitive job marker. Annually, the association speaks to more than 3,000 individua!s in schools, commu- nity and business groups. Recreation programs need help YOU'LL find volun- teers all over the place.
