CHILDREN’S activi-
ties, concerts and crafts
are the highlights of
Deep Cove Daze
Saturday.

The 15th annual commu-
nity celebration takes place
Aug, 9 in Panorama Park.

The event kicks off at 1]
a.m. with a kiddie bike parade
and continues with activities
throughout the day.

businesses, artists and services
in the comnrunity,

“There’s absolutely some-
thing for everyone,” said the
event coordinator and District
of North Vancouver council-
lor. ;
Tyler Pearson of Deep
Cove Music has put together
the day’s musical lineup.

It includes the original
rock sounds of G.W. Downe
and Charlie McKenzie, Antu’s
Latin American vibes, the jazz
of Brad Anderson Trio, Kirk
Wohlgeschaffen’s acoustic
rock, James McLauchlan’s
classical guitar and youth
favorites Big Tall Garden and
Threesixty.

Deep Cove artist Ingelore
Dwyer has coordinated a
showcase of works by artists
including Graham Eagle and’
Judy Prendergast, who will be
on-site.

Artisans will sell their
Wares at crafts tables set up in
the park. Gallant Avenue mer-
chants will bring their specials
out to the sidewalk. Members
of the Vancouver Water Ski
Club will showcase their skills.

Kids can enjoy pony rides,
clowns and balloon artists
while adults quench their
thirst atthe beachside beer
garden. All events are expect-
ed toend by6p.m. ~
