NORTH VANCOUVER District Fire Department Capt. Terry
Abrams presents Lynn Valiey elementary school student
Megan Yip with a new mountain bike for being the grand
prize winner in the Mr. Do Bee Fire Safety program. The local
fire department tours every North Vancouver District
elementary schcol each year with their stage production of
the Mr. Do Bee show fo encourage students and their fami-
fies to inspect their homes for various hazards. The North
VYaneouver District Fire Department would like to thank the
Great Canadian Bicycle Company, Flickers Videc Inc., Carol's
Costume Comer, the Foam Shop and the North Shore News
for support of the program.

North Van Kiwanis get funding for van

THE KIWANIS Club of

North Vancouver has
received provincial funding
of $24,426 to help it pur-
chase a van for transporting
people with disabilities.

The 16-passenger van will serve
the intermediate care residents at
the Kiwanis long-term care Cacility
in North Vancouver.

ht has room for two wheelchairs
and 14 walkers.
