Players present an evening of two
one act plays: Skirmishes and The
Flaw.

in’ Skirmishes, two estranged
sisters facing the death of 2 parent
unearth their past and try to rec-
oncile themselves to the present.
Often bitter, they manage still to
be courageously hones: in facing
the realities of their lives.

In The Flaw, a visitor disturbs
the family’s tranquility. Ap-
pearances prove deceiving and
relationships shift between the
characters to reveal ‘‘the filaw’’ as
the play develops to its surprising
conclusion.

The plays open Feb. 20 and run
until Feb. 22 and Feb. 27 to March

has’ allotted $2,500 as a career
development grant:--.

“ The purpose of the grant is. to
help people involved with opera,
or. preparing for a career in the
‘operatic field to improve their
skills. The grant may also be used

related to opera.

The grant will be awarded in
mid-May, 1986.

Grant applications will be judg-
ed by a jury of three members of
the operatic/artistic community on
the following: potential of applica-
tion, artistic/operatic background.

didate’s project. The grant reci-
pient must send a report on the
Project to the Vancouver Opera
Guild not later than three months
after the project’s completion.
