Yani Christie Horsdal, 24, (son of Canadian singer Valdy) and Derek Arrow: smith, 28, start- ed Terrapin Productions four months ago. The two met through mutual Deadhead buddies. Arrowsmith has seen 63 Dead shows. Horsdal has travelled to about 50 of them. Said Horsdal, “We had been going down to Grateful Dead concerts all over. Said Arrowsmith, “There is a mass amount of peaple that have a contplete lifestyle from season to season. “Say you have people who sell grilled cheese. They will go on tour and just sell grilled cheese for a dollar. That will pay for their entire summer and theyll come home with money. We were selling shirts.” Said Horsdal, “That just gets us to the next shows. It’s all about g good vibes and good teclings between ev erybody there. It's like no other thing, being in that live music element with so many people, all happy, enjoying | the music. No fights, just good feelings.” They now sell Phish T-shirts at Phish ‘concerts. Duke Ellington, his mentor, advised him to play all styles of music. Saunders took the advice to heart.
