kills rider

A 37-year-old Surrey man
dled Friday after his motor-
cycle went off the Squamish
Highway and hit a power
pole near Horseshoe Bay.

The dead man's name
was not released,

The motoreycle rider
was travelling south on the
highway near Ansell Place
and Sunset Marina at the
time of the crash, according
to West Vancouver Police
Sgt. Steve Watt,

The man was part of a
group of friends riding
motorcycles on the road
shortly after midnight, said
Watt.

The motorcycle rider
lost control at a point on
the highway where it dips
immediately after a crest,
said Watt.

The motorcycle rider
was pronounced dead at
Lions Gate Hospital,
