SKIING is a dynamic
physical sport, but the
mental aspect is also of
key importance, par-
ticularly when learning
to ski.

Many skiers overlook this
fact, resulting in much time
and energy spent with lirtle
or no positive results.

Mental aspect
important for
learning to ski

As with developing any
skill, skiing requires that you
first develop a clear mental
picture of waa. you are try-
ing to achieve and how to
work towards it.

Developmeat of this
knowledge can be aided by

instruction and visual
images. The best visual
image can be obtained by
watching 2 skilled skier.

Movies, video and other
sequential photographs are
other good sources for visual
images. When it comes to
learning to ski, a picture is
definite ‘ly worth more than a
thousand words.

nique as part of their prepa-
ration and training.
