30 - Sanday, February 12, 1989 - North Shore News BUSINESS W/V inventor hopes THE WEST Vancouver inventor of a new type of multi-bit screwdriver is hoping sales of the tool will expand coast to coast after the product is featured at the Canadian Hard- ware Show this month. The Picquic screwdriver, developed by former commerical pilot Archie McKenzie, is currently available in B.C. The screwdriver is built on a solid plastic handie resembling the chamber of a revolver. Five spare screwdriver bits are loaded into the chambers, which run the length of the handle. A sixth bit sits in the holder. To exchange bits, the user simply pulls out the one being used and pushes it into the chamber of the desired bit. The bit pushes the new one forward from the chamber, ready to be slipped into the bit holder. The item has been available since August and is manufactured in a workshop in Vancouver by P.R. Innovations. The company is owned and managed by McKen- zie’s son Pau! and company presi- dent Rb Sater. According to the company’s ac- counts representative Jill Suter, the screwdrivers are selling as fast as they are being made. ‘‘The han- dymen like them and the profes- sionals like them,’ Suter said. When the fledgling company set up a booth at the B.C. Place Home Show in October, the goal was to sell at least 50 screwdrivers Hands-on training Set your own pace Set your own Schedule Start any time e INTRO TO COMPUTERS e BASIC OPERATING SKILLS e BUSINESS & OFFICE SKILLS e Word Processing to cover the cost of exhibiting.
