BRITISH Columbians for Mental- ly Handicapped People will be hosting an Inaugural Banquet for its Family Support Institute at the Four Seasons Hotel, Vancouver Friday, Jan. 30. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m., follow- ed by an elegant candlelight and wine banquet at 7:30. The keynote speaker for this special occasion is Jean Chretien. The evening concludes with dancing to the music of the nine- piece Dal Richards Orchestra with Lynne McNeil, vocalist. For over 30 years, BCMHP has been the voice for mentally handi- capped people and their families. The group's purpose is to help in- dividuals with mental handicaps function as part of the community. BCMHP receives no direct fun- ding from provincial or federal governments. These costs are met entirely through project grant funds, donations and fund-raising events.
