dress for success —

FALL FASHIONS are
aimed at the woman
with a mind to achieve
— to stand up and be
noticed in the business
world.

“Women in business are
dressing for success,” Dana
Halli, a fashion coordinator
in the retail industry, said.

Women have taken just
enough from men’s styles to
add to their look of “I mean
-business,” but haven't
absorbed too much so that
their femininity is lost. The
stern look of the double
breasted jacket with brass
buttons at the cuff is
softened by bright jewelry
and chic felt hats.

The suit forms the core of
the wardrobe on which to
build various outfits for work
and entertainment. Though
pants remain popular, the
skirt is the favorite, Hall
said, indicating that the skirt
veers away from the casual
appearance of pants, and
gives an impression of deter-
mination and accomplish-
ment.

Skirts are sim and defined
while blouses are tailored
with few frills and flounces,
said Hall.
