Argyle captured both the boys and girls North Shore High School curling championships on _ the weekend, the victory all the sweeter since the boys came back after an early loss to retain the title. The boys and_ girls, together with coaches Moe Williams and John Nakamoto, head to Cran- brook February 17-19 for the B.C. championships. With only three teams in the girls’ league, play was limited in the double knockout tournament. On the first day, Wednesday, Argyle defeated Windsor 9- 5, a bit of a shocker for the defending champs. Argyle thrashed Handsworth 15-0 on the Thursday, and finished up the tournament on Saturday by defeating Windsor 10-2. The boys league featured four North Shoredeams and Elphinstone from _ the Sunshine Coast, which needed the tournament as a qualifier for the B.C.’s. Wednesday action saw Argyle down Handsworth “A” 9-6 and Windsor whip Handsworth “B"13-1. Elphinstone won again on Friday, a 11-3 score over Windsor, while Argyle came back to trounce Handsworth “A” 13-2. Windsor was the next to go, losing 11-3 on Saturday to Argyle. In the final that day, Argyle defeated Elphinstone 8-3, forcing another, match, game.
