Timothy Renshaw makes
some good points in his (July
11) Ripping Yarns column on
spending on trips by council-

But why not tell the full
story?

The article mentions the
trip to China in 1998 by three
members of North Vancouver
District council but no men-
ticn is made of the visit to
Japan just three months ago

by the entire North Vancouver
Ciy Council with, | believe,
the exception of Councillor
Barbara Sharp. If it were not
for a small item in the
Vancouver Sun, the residents
of North Vancouver would
never have learned of this trip.

It scems to me that it is the
responsibility of the North
Shore News to report the full
cost and the expected benefits
of both North Vancouver City
and District council travels co

Vancouver. Also, if you get
around to it, it would be help-
ful to see the detailed state:
