THE move to reduce,
reuse and recycle isn’t

just in the home or in

the office — it’s every-

where.

Student. at Sherwood Park
elementary school have taken
the 3Rs to beart.

Wirh iniormation seasions,
ups and ideas provided ov
North Shore reeveling, the
children at the Sevmour-area
school have implemented
their Own school-wide cnvi-
ronment trendy program.

It all began when sorte of
the students decided chev did:
n't like secing the litter on the
school playground.

Since then, thice of the
classes have learned about the
SRs from Vieteria Gazelev of
North Shore Reeyeling.
Those three classes are, in
turn, reaching the other chass-
es in the school what thev've
learned.

Other projects include a
computerized tlh cf the play-
ground Hitter by cae class, and
the introduction of a litterless
lunch program for the entire
school. The students have
come up with a list for parents
of lunch ideas which can be
sent in reusable containers.

“Healthy Schools Grant,” and
also received donaticns of - STUDENTS at Sherwood Park elementary school near Deep Cove have started their own program to reduce, reuse and recycle. With the

reusable containers from local heip of staff at North Shore Recycling, the children are teaching each other about reducing garbage, keeping track of playground litter
supermarkets. and bringing their lunch in reusable containers.
