“BANGING” SOUND OF FURNACE
AFTER THE FAN STOPS :

This condition is referred to as “oil canning of the heat
plenum”. The “heat plenum” on your furnace is the large
metal canister located above the furnace.

The noise is caused by the metal on the heat plenum
cooling down and contracting after the furnace bas run

through its cycle.
