gravitates

towards younger women

Q. I'M 64 and a reasonably happy married man. My wife is
three years younger, and except for some nagging is 2 good
wife overall: good cook and housekeeper, sexwise excellent,
but could be a littie more loving and sexually aggressive. I
would rate her an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

My problem: When we go to a
party I always gravitate to some
pretty female, age 25-35. I love to
dance, my wife doesn't; it happens

that I want to dance every dance
and the younger women usually do
too. I don’t know why I never
dance with or pay alteation al}
evening to older women. I wonder
if it is male change of life, though
E have heard that takes place
around age 40.

A. The female menopause takes
place at widely varying ages; the
so-called male menopause is no
less variable. Neither one produces
precisely the same physical, emo-
tional or psychic effects in every
human being.

It happens that a lively older guy
is usually popular with younger
women at a party because he is
both sprightly and seems harmless.
I am not trying to put you down,
but that may be part of what is in
their minds. You have probably
gotten rid of lot of self-doubt and
low self-esteem that troubles
younger men, and just feel free to
enjoy yourself.

You make a better party boy
than some of the younger men. A
girl who just wants to have fun —
at feast while at a party — will
welcome someone who can dance
all night. It is too bad that you and
your wife can't get the same kind
of fun out of social events, but
yours isn’t the only marriage where
he aid she have different ideas of
fun, or even where his idea of fun
causes her embarrassment or
resentment.

Since there is a lot in your mar-
riage thaz you find good, maybe
you should give more thought to
ways in which you can please and
avoid giving displeasure to that
good cook, housewife and bed-
mate. Let me tell you, that is some
good combination, and millions of
men will tell you so. They will tell
you that yow should be more than
reasonably happy. You should be
aware that you have a domestic
goid mine and should do whatever
you can to keep her content.

Maybe you should not be so
reasonable, my reasonable friend,
about your own behavior at par-
ties.
