John Denver under fire ASPEN, Colo. (UPI) - Singer John Denver is under fire in his exclusive Aspen area neighborhood for firing on a neighbor's dog with a BB gup. According to news reports, Denver said an 8- month-old Keeshund was in his backyard with another dog, “nipping at one of my dogs.” “They were giving my little dog a bard time,” he said. So Denver says he opened fire witha BBgun. The dog was not seriously hurt but a veterinarian said a BB lodged in the animal's left shoulder. Denver said he did not realize he had hit the dog. Aspen city officials did not file cruelty charges against the singer because there was no evidence he intended to hurt the dog, but the story was published in the Aspen Times. “] did not feel good about it,” Denver told the paper. “It was a stupid thing to do. This is the only time in my life I shot at something live with a BB gun. I've never done anything like this before.” Lisa Russell, Aspen animal control officer, said “if he does it again, we'll be right up there writing him (a ticket).” Baby kills poisonous snake with teeth MELBOURNE, Australia (UPI) - An. 18-month-old baby girl apparently killed a venomous black snake Sunday by biting its head.
