It’s) a down-to-earth journey involving fashion and make-up, how to make the right decisions when it comes to your personal priorities, how to improve your self-image, to come to the full realization that there's no such thing as “just a housewife” — that all of us have what it takes, as long as we become aware of it. If you're a bit puzzled by all of this — fine, come on out and complex pieces, putting onc solid thought into cach paragraph of a composition. By the time they reach high school they will be learning to do_ research, using the thesaurus to find better words, and will probably put out a class newspaper. “We have done pilots around California,” Ms. -* Bockrath said m an in- terview. “The children love it. They cannot believe their own capacity for writing. “They also enjoy the fact that they are little editors, correcting their writing just the way an editor would.” The program Ms. Bockrath promotes is Scott, Foresman’'s “Language: skills and Use” series.
