B4 - Sumday News, lanuary 17, 1982 ES Sport LONG-ESTABLISHED TRADITION When the Automobile Dealers’ Association of Greater Vancouver was formed over 62 years ago, the idéa of an Annual Auto Show quickly gained ap- proval from the Executive. The presentation of new automobiles, stil novel and unique on the transportation scene, but changing and developing from year to year gained favor with the public as well, and a tradition was established. Even in those early days the idea of a salon setting for the show was determined. The finest presentation that could be arranged for the Auto Show was always uppermost in the dealers’ minds although the number of car models available was considerably different from loday. . For the 1982 Auto Show, opening January 22-31, the Dealers’ Association will spend many thousands of dollars on i and labour for installation. Special new hanging ban- ners, hundreds of potted shrubs, curtaining and colour will be added to the walls and ceilings. The manufacturers themselves will enhance the exhibits.General Motors will feature a huge revolving table newly mirrored for the 1982 presentation.
