2 - Sunday, April 10, 1994 - North Shore News RCMP to investigate Williams’ INFORMATION REGARDING former North Vancouver School District 44 (NVSD) adminis- trator Ray Williams’ expense accounts and edu- cation credentials has been handed over to the RCMP’s Commercia! Crime Unit for further investigation, according to the Chilliwack School District (CSD). In January 1994 CSD board chairman Alan Gavis said Williams was being investigated for possible improper conduct, excessive expendi- tures and falsifying his credentials. On resumes he supplied to the CSD in his application for their superintendent of schools position, Williams claimed to hold a Bachelor of Arts (honors), a Master’s degree from 1971 and a Doctoral degree. Davis said the CSD was looking into Williams’ $40,000 expenses for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1993, when the question of his credentials came to light. Davis said the University of British Columbia could not find records of his Doctorate degree and claimed nis Bachelor of Arts was not an honors degree. Williams had been on a leave from. work from October to uis termination citing sever depression. He has not cooperated with the CSD | investigation, He was formerly a. teacher, the principal of Handsworth and Sutherland and the director of personnel with the NVSD before joining the csp.
