Discover 4 new
kids’ programs

FOUR NEW programs for young
children are being offered at rec-
Centre Lonsdale.

The programs will be taught by
Betty Nightingale Bohn, who
tecently joined the recreation cen-
tre’s instructor staff. Bohn brings
ideas and expertise from her
background in day care and recre-
ation where she organized such ac-
tivities as music, drama, baking,
arts and crafts, and outdoor
games.

Things That Fly is a program for
three to five year olds and includes
creating hot air balioons, dinosaur
diaramas, kites, origami mobiles

and sailboats.

Prin for six to 16 year
olds will include fruit and
vegetable printing, lino and wood
printing, stencilling, mono prin-
ting, collage and silk screen.

In Singalong/Playalong, three to
five year olds can learn a variety of
games end songs.

At Sticky Fingers, chree to five
year olds can combine a love of
snacks with the enjoyment of delv-
ing their fingers in the pot.

Programs start April 14. For

Learn CPR skills

LEARN CPR at the North Shore
Neighbourhood House.

A Cardio Pulmonary Resuscita-
tion (CPR) Heartsaver program
will be offered Thursdays, April 13
to 20 from 1 to 3 p.m,

Participants will learn one per-
son CPR and how to assist a chok-
ing victim, prevention of heart

disease, the signals of distress and
how to act before a situation
becomes an emergency.

The course is instructed by the
North Shore YMCA.

would not otherwise be able to attend York House to do
so. The successful applicants will currently be enzolled in

will show evidence of scholarship and character.
