Security isn’t everything

Dear Editor:

I should like to give the
following comments to the
article by Mr. Bert Wickham
in your issue of January
23rd, 1985:

Dear Mr. Wickham, how I
wish I could share your views
which. you expressed in your
article of last Wednesday!
Wouldn’t it be nice to have
no worries by just sticking
our money in a GIC.

The record shows that peo-
ple who invested during the
last 17 years in GIC’s (that is:
In other people’s debt) are
much worse off today than

those who selected g good equi-
ty Funds.

In the coming years we will
witness many more changes,
in our society, in technology,
medicine and many, many
other fields, When we do not
participate in those changes
we stand still and do not par-
ticipate in the future.
Defenceless.

When we do not par-
ticipate we cannot cope with
change and that means that
we have given up the fight for
survival.

Alderman Clark. has a
smug look on his face and ap-
pears to be enjoying the view:

mountain. Perhaps he would

day of the year as many local
residents have to.
