Story and photos by Elisworth Dickson This Deep Cove con- temporary home is a great place for a large family. With five bedrooms plus a den and 3,000 sq. ft. there is plenty of room for a “Brady Bunch” type of family. Next to the kitchen, there is also a spacious family room with a brick fireplace and a nice view of the Deep Cove harbour and nearby mountains. Off the family room is a covered deck which can be entered from the living room as well. The roof of the covered deck has a skylight to keep things bright on those dull days. The living room of Dave and Gail’s three year old house has a vaulted cedar ceiling and a Squamish rock fireplace. A quiet area, the house is located at the end of a cul- de-sac where you drive off the road into a double carport. Between the car- port and the house is a courtyard which is partially covered and has various shrubs and a picnic table. The whole property has a number of rock retaining walls and concrete steps. The kitchen is separeted from the family room by a counter, keeping a bright, spacious feeling and the good view. Dave and Gail finished off the basement themselves. Besides bedrooms, there is a large recreation room with a floor to ceiling fireplace and sliding glass doors leading to a patio on the view side of the house. Besides the convenience of three baths, there is only a five minute walk to the beach and Panorama Park. r Located in Deep Cove, $s contemporary home offers lots of room for the big family.
