and robbed of $20

A CAB driver was assaulted and
robbed in North Vancouver on Nov.
19.

According to a North Vancouver
RCMP spokesman, the cabbie
reportedly was robbed in the 300
block of West 4th Street at approxi-
mately 2:50 a.m.

The taxi driver told police at the
scene that he had picked up three
males and a female passenger at the
Balmoral Hotel in Vancouver.

The driver asked for a $20 pay-
ment at the hotel, The fare was paid.

When the car arrived at its North
Vancouver destination, a man sitting
in the front seat punched the driver
in the face and took back the $20
paid for the ride.

The passengers.left the car and
one of the men kicked the car and
shattered the car’s lights and front
grill.

The suspects fled on foot north-
bound in alley near West Sth Street.

A North Vancouver RCMP
police dog unit was called to the
scene, but the suspects could nat be

located during the search.

The victim identified one of the
male suspects as a native. The other
two men were described as being
Caucasian. The suspects had short
hair and were dressed in sweatshirts
and jeans.
