Crib book

HEALTH Canada is warning
consumers that avo crib books
sold under the two titles Atty
and Friend and Puppy and
Friend may contain a sharp pin.

The books were sold ins retail
stores under the Playskool name,
which is licensed by Dutton
Children’s Books, a division of
Penguin U.S.A,

The books consist of five attached

Pins found in Playskool fabrics

fabric panels, There is a picture of a
dog or a cation the front cover, Hach
panel has a blick and white picture
on one side and a color picture on the
other side,

When the book is unfolded, the
pictures are displayed on a 60 em by
13 em banner designed to fasten to
the side of the crib/playpen with vel-

cro. During the manufacturing
process, a straight: pins may have
inadvertently been left in the etoth
book,

The pin could cause a skin pune-
ture or injury if swallowed,

Importers have initiated a recall
of the cloth books which were sold
in retail stores across Canada since

warning issued

Noventber (99S,

Health Canmua is aware of one
case in Canada where the pins was
found.

No injuries or deaths have been
reported,

Consumers are advised to stop
using the books and contact: their
retailer for identification purpases,
