Fined for
obstruction

A NORTH Vancouver man
has been fined $500 and
placed on six months proba-
tion for his attempts to aid a
friend who was being ar-
rested by police last August.

Darrell Peter Atlay was
fined after being found guil-
ty of obstructing a police of-
ficer in court last week.

The charges were laid
after Atlay attempted to in-
terfere with police while they
were making an arrest at
2:30 a.m. August 4 last year.
Police had originally
responded to the Lonsdale
Avenue scene because of
reports of a minor distur-
bance.
