The Pie hosted another awesome night. The Backstabbers itom Seattle are punk rock. High strung gui- tars, decent breaks and hooks, cutting vocals and lots of muscle. The Orientals feature local artists from a number of bands. Fast guitars and pounding tempos... punk rock straight out. Currently on tour promot- ing her Jatest CI) No Angel, Dido and ber band mates plaved a quasi-acousti¢ set. For the most part the songs are rhythm-rooted with an enticingly fat bass sound. The lyrics are yielding and Dido's vocal range has the dynamics and refrain necessary to deliver with genuine depth and feel. Nettwerk recording artist Tara MacLean headlined.
