Ski fit for ski season

THE SNOW is on its way,
but Ski Fit is already here!!

Once again, the North
Shore Family YMCA is help-
ing you get into shape for this
year’s ski season by offering
our seven-week fitness pro-
gram, Ski Fit, until Dec. 12,
every Monday, Wednesday
and Thursday evening from 7
to 8 p.m. at Inglewood Cen-
tre in West Vancouver.

This program uses dry land

training methods similar to
-those used by the national ski
team. Included in this pro-
gram are fitness tests at the
start and finish of the pro-
gram, warm-up, stretching,
muscle strengthening and
toning, with specific em-
phasis on those muscles used
in skiing.

The Ski Fit program is
designed for skiers of all
levels wishing to improve
their skiing in the upcoming

AsO, Cypress Ski School
staff will be on hand three
evenings to provide informa-
tion on equipment selection,
care and maintenance. They
will also have a few films
guaranteed to set you in the
mood for skiing.
