During a location shoot in North Van, Allan met the young actor who was to play her character's daughter. To her surprise, the young actor, Emily Perkins, was a for- mer student of hers. Allan figures she taught Perkins, now in her 20s, at the beginning of her teaching career with Vancouver Youth Theatre (VYT), close to 10 vears ago.
