Explosive charges

FIVE NORTH Vancouver men were recently charged
with 25 explosive-related counts after a Halloween bomb-
ing spree in North Vancouver.

The men, ages 20 to 22. were arrested after a pipe
bomb exploded in au Globe and Mail newspaper box at
Phibbs Exchange, according to an RCMP spokesman.

During the bombing rampage, a smoke bomb was set
off at the Raven Pub‘s beer and wine store and a Ford
Ranger truck was blown up on Lytton Street.

Explosives were also detonated next to a residence on
Hardy Crescent and near the entrance of Mount
Seymour Park.

Estimated damage to property was more than $
in connection with the bombings.

Charged with possessing explosive devices, arson by
explosion and mischief are Michael Chalmers. Terry
Driedger, Mark Ehlers, Ravinder Grewal and Jonathan
Toews.

They are scheduled to appear in North Vancouver
prov ineiat court on March 30.

Prowler alert

A MALE prowler looked into at least two home windows
on Feb. 27 in the Horseshoe Bay area.
. The prowler was seen in the 6300-block of Bruce
Street and the 6400-block of Wellington Avenue at
approximately 10 p.m., said a West Vancouy er Police
spokesman, |

The suspect is described as a Caucasian, in his mid-
20s, 6° (1.8 m) with brown hair.

Wallet leads
victim to NV
vandal suspects

TWO YOUTHS were recently
charged with mischief alter a North
Vancouver resident inspected his
vandalized tractor-trailer on Feb,
24 and found a wallet belonging to
one of the suspects.

The victim, who dives on
Seymour River Place. uneed the
suspects and confronted them,
