Survey urged for proposed pub NORTH VANCOUVER District Council wants to see a= more thorough survey done of an area surrounding the proposed location of @ new acighborhood pub in the municipality. Under provincial regulations a poll must be conducted asking businesses and residents within 350 metres of the site whether they are for or against a pub in their neighborhood. But aldermen say because the proposed location at 1790 Spicer Rd. is remotely situated in an in- NORTH VANCOUVER DISTRICT COUNCIL dustrial area, they do not want to see a poll done until it includes the nearest’ resident. the next nearest pub jocation and a per capita breakdown of liquor outlets in the area. Once the poll is conducted council can either reject the ap- plication or request a rezoning bylaw and set a date for a public hearing. Ald. Janice Harris said the ap- plii.adion — along with three other applications for three other neighborhood pubs soon sched- uled to come before council — should be considered at the same time. “We should be looking at all four right now in a_ strategic sense,’” Harris said.
