Children’s wear line expands COLORFUL, COMFORTABLE cottons make Tadpole children’s wear a winning fashion choice with the play school crowd. Designed and :nanufactured locally, this new lise pairs color with functional style to appeal to both children and parents. After the birth of her son in 1987, Tadpole designer Carole Herder found there was a need in the children’s market for easy wear, reasonably priced children’s clothes. Drawing on her fine arts background, she created a small line of infants’ wear and called it Tadpole after her son’s nickname. Since then, the line has grown into two full spring and fall col- lections of play wear in sizes from six months to eight years. Unisex overalls, tops and pants are oversized to grow with the child. Designs feature wide necklines, drawstrings, and ribbed sleeve and ankle cuffs for extra inches. Ribbed body suits and leggings layer under full overalls and dresses for warmth and versatility. For quick and easy changing, baby pants provide leg zippers in place of snaps. Designs are made from 100 per cent cotton corduroy, woven sheeting and knits like jersey, rib- bing and fleece. The qualities in these names are better suited to men as they would tend to make a woman a tittle too masculine in her ex- pression.
