Come Sepiember your Credit Union will be building more than financial security at
Lonsdale Branch in North Vancouver -— main fica offices and member service areas are due
to undergo major renovation.

The make-over is expected to be compiets by Christmas, accowding to Vice-President,
Operations, Bill Sorenson. The new look is more thea window dressing. “We're aiming at a
more personal service concept. We're always striving for ways to improve service.

. It will be business as usual 2 the branch while wosk gocs on. The renovation job entails a
total refurbishing in the new blue and gol4 coloring scheme already in place at other branches,
new flooring, new countes, additional sit-down Gesk areas for member transactions in the
| financial services area. Piars call for the instailaiion of a new, fire-proof filing room, to reduce
S — office clutter and consolidate filing space. The branch parking Jot will receive new signs and
ease of wheelchair access into the building will be improved.

' Said Sorenson, “Lonsdale has really never had s major upgrade since it was first built in
1976. Virusaily ail of the other branches have gone through this process.”
A copy of drawings detailing renovation plans will be posted at the branch.

North Vancouver Doilartoa Branch will also be renovated later this summez.

“Every effort will be made to keep the inconveniences to our membership to a minimum,”

Always keep your PiN confidential. Itis best io memorize your PIN and discard any records of it. But,
if you must keep a written record, make sure you store it in a safe place. Don't write it on the card. You
will runa terrible financial risk if you lose your card of PIN. But, if you must carry it with you, disguise
it so that no-one wili recognize it.

Never lend your card to anyone. Never give out your PIN to anyone. Be especially wary of any
salespeople who ask for such information over the phone. Remember the financial institution will not
assume any responsibility for your losses if you voluntarily give out your PIN.

‘ If you don’t think your PIN is secure, change it. Most institutions will provide this service free of

charge. If you have lost your card, report it immediately. Many financial institutions operate a 24-hour

~ emergency line so you can reach them 2t all times, Then, if anyone tries to use your card, it will be
“swallowed” by the machine immediately,

Don’ tleave your transaction record behind when you have finished at the ATM. It contains important
information about your accounts and should be treated as an official record untii you get your monthly
Statement. Until then, use the transaction record to update your own books.

Lastly, take care to protect the card itself. Do not siore it near a magnet because it could descramble
the informatica contained on he magnetic stripe. Women who carry purses with magnet closures should
be especially careful. ;
