Van firm WANG CANADA announced Monday a 15 per cent equity investment partnership with Nissi Computer Systems Inc., a North Vancouver-based software firm operating locally since 1980. According to Wang Canada president Thomas Turner, further funding is forthcoming in the form of debentures worth $760,000. Wang has been working with Nissi for the past three years. The North Vancouver company is set to seriously market a Wang hardware-driven municipal management system initially develeped in 1984, The District of West Vancouver was the first municipality to install the system with software covering financial operations, recreation, and property management. Turner said there are 15 of the municipal systems installed to date throughout Canada and the United States including installations in Ontario, Washington, Alaska and California. “We want to get the capital into the company to aggressively pursue the North American market for municipal systems,’’ said Nissi president Bruce Elliott.
