Amnesiac loves wife

EVANSTON, Ul. (UPI) -
His memory ended where
their first date began but
Janet Krusinski never quit
trying to win back her
husband's love.

-LLarry Krusinski, 29, of
Vernon Hills, Il., lost his
memory after being injured
in a car accident last year.
For 10 days, he was in a
coma. When he awakened,
he was paralyzed and could
not remember being married
for three years to Janet.

“He remembered his
parents and the house he
lived in,” Mrs. Krusinski said
Wednesday. “He _ started
remembering his own family
and even some of my family.
He remembered the things
that had happened to him in
college.

“But his memory seemed
to end with our first date.”

She showed her husband
pictures from their wedding
and just kept “telling him |
loved him”.

“He looked at
photographs of us together
like he was surprised, hke 11
was all something new he
had never seen before,”
said

she

“One day he was telling
me about his wife. .He told
me, ‘All she wants me to do
is walk, walk, walk.’

“And I said, ‘Who is your
wife?’ And he said, ‘I don't
know, but when I find her,
I'm going to punch her in the
nose.’

“And I said, ‘What is your
wife's name?’ And he said,
‘Janet, But she never comes
to see me.’ And I told him,
‘Tim Janet. I'm your wife,
and I'm here.”

Throughout the ordeal,
Mrs. Krusinski remained
undaunted, determined to
win back the love of her
husband.

“I came to visit him all the
tame and talked to him and
brought him pizzas even
though he did not know who
I was,” she said “He started
liking me.

“Yes, I do think he fell in
love with me all over again.
He doesn't remember that he
ever loved me before ”

Krusinski's paralysis 1s
slowly dissipating. as is his
amnesia He ts expected to
be released from the hospital
