QUESTION: Will we save
money buying our travellers’
cheques in Canadian dollars?

ANSWER: Not likely, and in
many places you'll have
some problem cashing them.
Small places are geared up-
for American dollars but get
all boggled when you hand
them Canadian.

If you are visiting the
British Isles, it’s a good idea
to take some cheques in
pounds. I’ve found that they
will take these right at the
cashier, where you have to

_take any other currency to

the main store office. |

If you are cashing
travellers’ cheques, do it ata
bank if possible. You get
much better exchange. Not
necessary if you cash pounds
in Britain as they don't
charge you for cashing their
own currency.

doesn’t cost a special fee, as
some cards do, and if I pay
the whole amount promptly
there’s no interest.

- Every little bookstore in
London and Birmingham has

a selection of maps. They'll

cost you about a pound.

Larger shops in both places

will carry maps of all major

cities in England plus road
“ maps and Continental stuff.

When touring London, be
sure to buy a copy of a
magazine, published every
Friday, called “In London”.
It is the most excellent guide
to the city I’ve seen.

If you mean middle Europe,
