The Leaders of Tomorrow Program, an initiative of the ‘ancouver Board of Trade, has been getting students involved their future career field. Two hundred Lower Mainland students have been matched with a mentor, whom they have been meeting with for the past five months. The student and mentor meet once a month for an hour, . usually at the VBOT. They discuss conversation and netwi orking skills, confidence building, and how to talk to the right people in their line of work. “t think this program has definitely prepared me for the business world,” said Lucas Mocs, a third-year business student at Trinity Western University. “It’s totally helped with my con- fidence, too. 1 have no problem talking to people now.” Students from various universities and colleges across the lower mainland are taking part in the program.
