DAVE WELSFORD and his 1964 VW 1500 Karmann Ghia
drove 3,060 miles (4,830 km) in four days to attend the 1994
VW Classic in Irvine, California, earlier this month. The trip
was worth it. The North Vancouver resident became the
first-ever Canadian to win first place at the competition, the
largest annual VW event in North America. The classic car
is one of only 375 left in the world from the original produc-
tion run of 42,500 in 1964.

p.m., 8:35 p.m, and 9:25 p.m.

Leave Bowen Island at 5:45 a.m. (daily except Sundays and statutory
holidays), 6:35 a.m., 7:35 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:25 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 11:40
a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 3:55 p.m. (the Thursday sailing will be replaced
by a dangerous cargo sailing at which time no passengers will be allowed
to board), 4:50 p.m., 5:50 p.m., 7:20 p.m., 8:10 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:45
p.m.

Tsawwassen to Swartz Ray and Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen:
