Furk’s comments come one week after the WVSB released a consultant's report that said the school board could generate $14.4 million it 1994 from the demoli- tion of Hitiside and the subse- quent sale of tiie Hillside site in 30 single-family lots. But Furk has now released a teport of her own in which she found that District 45 would be faced with a $1;548,200 deficit if it followed the recommendations of Moodie Consultants Lid. to replace Hillside with the Caulfeild school. Furk noted that the preliminary projections used by the WVSB last spring indicated the Hillside site could be subdivided into 31 lots and sold for $500,000 each for a gross revenue of $15,500,000. Minus total estimated site casts of $1,675,000, District 45 would real- ize a net revenue of $13,825,000. The construction costs of a new school were estimated at $1! 356,500 which would leave the school board with a $2,268,500 surplus.
