This is a good time to talk to him; his best ideas come each spring with the green grass. The latest occurred while we were sinking a bottle of the stuff which, we agreed, is bad for some people and far too good for the rest of them. Half way down the label, he started talking about genocide and how great it can be. supposed to brush your teeth. We will all go plumb crazy if we pay too much attention to laws. Laws are there to keep the courts runn- ing and the lawyers paid but most of us go on in our own way. The Downwind Tracker was . * pel wey I say, if at age 65 a man hasn’t yet found a way to have fun, what is the likelihood that he’s going to discover it that late?’’ “Everybody is talking about pollution bu' nobody really talks about the cause of poliution. They say it’s caused by chemicals or clear cutting or the profit motive. It’s not caused by any of them. I[t is caused by too many people. **You want to cut pollution by 25 per cent? Get rid of 25 per cent of the people. Kill them or send them back to Alberta, which is much the same thing. “British Columbia has now got about three million people in it. It was only meant to have the number it had when I was a kid. Thin them out, I say. It’s good for radishes. It’s good for forests. It’s good for the human popula- tion.”” It was pointed out to the Downwind Tracker that laws have been passed against shooting off people, wartime excepted. He remained convinced that no declaration of war is required. “There are laws about where you can sing, shoot or pee and about how many times you’re THE FOLLOWING is a list of recent North Shore crimes: NORTH VANCOUVER CAPILANO Break and enter — 300-bIk. That’s when they should get into the nightie, grab the harp and fly away. This does more for society than just cut the popula- tion. We can close down the old age pension wicket. There won't be anybody to pension. All those doctors who are patching up the old people with new hearts, livers and lights will be able to use them on younger people who will have some use for them. “LT know. I know. People will say, ‘People of 65 are in the gold- en years. They are being rewarded for all the hard work they did during their useful lifetime. They should be free to go fishing and fooling around.’ “All I say is, how long do you want them fooling around? Do they all get new hearts at 70, new livers at 80 and new brains at a hundred? When does the public \ stop paying for repairs and g0 for anew model? “Some people will say, ‘It ain't fair. They’ve been working all those years and now they deserve a holiday.” I say, if'at age 65a man hasn’t yet found a way to have fun, what is the likelihood that he’s going to discover it that late? “Other people will say, ‘Do not underestimate people who are retiring. They have got old slow and smart fast. Their most pro- ductive years are ahead of them.’ “Tl say why? Tell me why? That's all J want to know. Why? If somebody was going to do any- thing worthwhile in this world, 65 years was plenty of time to do it. If he didn’t do it then, what are the chances of him doing it now that his teeth are loose and he can’t remember whether he was wearing a hat when he left home? “The other thing people will say is, ‘How could you DO sucha thing?’ “Science has an answer. At Suffolk, on the Prairies, the Army did all sorts of experiments with nerve gas and germ warfare. Knowledge never gets lost. We still have it. We can use it now on grandpa. “It is like the Bible says, you beat swords into plows. What we thought was only for war turns out to be useful in peace. We just pass out the nerve gas on your 65th birthday instead of pensions and cheap tickets at the local movie house.”’ To further reduce population after all the people 65 have taken up their traditional six feet of sod, the Downwind Tracker has other groups in mind who should be available for termination. These include real estate salesmen, everybody who works for the post office and almost all of the New Democratic Party who, he says, are soft on 65-year-olds like him. “| need some insurance.” North Vancouver 10i — 1112 Lonsdale 986-4321 6G I'm Mike O'Connor and I can help you with that.
